ITINERARY BY DAY
Explore the history of Hue as the stories of feudal dynasties unfold. See Emperor Minh Mang’s Mausoleum, perhaps the most impressive of all the Nguyen Dynasty Emperors’ tombs, with large impressive gates and heavily decorated roofs. During construction the emperor passed away and it was left to his son to complete the building.
Next, ride to the former Tiger and Elephant Fighting Arena, which Emperor Minh Mang built to stage fights between the beasts. Here the battle to the death would take place, but as legend has it the fights were fixed. The tigers would have their claws and fangs removed so the elephants, a symbol of royalty, always won!
